some exciting new wines from new zealand just arrived last week and were a big hit a our tasting event last thursday night. tui grove sauvignon blanc and pinot noir, cloud dancer sauvignon blanc and wild earth pinot noir were my favorites. the 2006 wild earth pinot was voted the best red wine in the world at the international wine challenge,besting 31 other great wines. these pinot noirs come from the central otago region of new zealand, one of the "new world"s best regions for pinot noir.

by far the best winery and wines from ct. come from jonathan edwards winery in n. stonington.a beautiful place to visit and sample their ct. grown chardonnay,pinot gris,gewurtztraminer,and cabernet franc. also try their napa ca. wines which come across the country in refrigerated trucks and are bottled and aged at the winery. they will explain how the whole thing works as you sample these terrific napa valley wines.

Tony's Wine Tour of California

Tony and his posse are heading to wine country on Sept. 17th thru the 20th. Plan on tastings at Nickel & Nickel Winery, Kenwood Winery, Stags Leap Winery, Stetlzner Winery, Regusci Winery, Girard Winery and anybody else who will let us through the door.
