But we were rescued by many of our customers/friends who filled up our empty glasses with wonderfull wine[purchased at super cellar of course.] Many thanks to all of you.

some exciting new wines from new zealand just arrived last week and were a big hit a our tasting event last thursday night. tui grove sauvignon blanc and pinot noir, cloud dancer sauvignon blanc and wild earth pinot noir were my favorites. the 2006 wild earth pinot was voted the best red wine in the world at the international wine challenge, besting 31 other great wines. these pinot noirs come from the central otago region of new zealand, one of the "new world"s best regions for pinot noir.

visit this awesome winery right here in connecticut

by far the best winery and wines from ct. come from jonathan edwards winery in n. stonington.a beautiful place to visit and sample their ct. grown chardonnay, pinot gris, gewurtztraminer, and cabernet franc. also try their napa ca. wines which come across the country in refrigerated trucks and are bottled and aged at the winery. they will explain how the whole thing works as you sample these terrific napa valley wines.

Tasted a couple of outstanding wines this afternoon. The first was a 2006 Forman Napa Chardonnay. It has creamy smooth flavors of butterscotch, ripe pear, citrus, honey and vanilla with the right amount of acidity. We also tasted Forman's 2005 Napa Cabernet Sauvignon. What a mouthful of delicious black fruit flavors! It has firm but approachable tannins, soft vanilla oak and a finish that stays on the palate for 30 seconds or more. You can taste these special wines along with many other exciting wines on Thursday Feb, 26th from 6-7.30 in our store. No fee, everyone is welcome. Any questions call 860-678-9777

Thanks Michelle for your comments. I agree that the Andrew Geoffrey Diamond Mountain Cab is an incredible wine and is well worth the money. Seems like a bargain when you compare it to Opus One!
Of the new wines that you listed what would be your top pick that you would like us to bring into the store for a tasting?
Are there others out there that were at the Mohegan Sun Winefest that would like to suggest your favorite wine to bring in for a tasting event?

The Mohegan Sun Winefest is an excellent place to taste wines but it only occurs once a year. We have our own wine tastings every Saturday afternoon and the last Thursday of every month.
Join us next Thursday Jan 29th, from 6 - 7:30 when we will be tasting some new and exciting wines. Hope to see all of you wine enthusiasts then!

Welcome to our Super Cellar blog! This is Tony, wine manager and resident wine geek here at Super Cellar.
I will be using this site to post wine tasting notes, reviews and creating dialogue about wines.
Has anyone had any good vino lately? Was it something you bought here or maybe a wine that we don't carry or I'm not familair with, we'd love to hear from you. Post your comments here for me and our wine community to discuss.
